We can also advise on Civil Partnerships which came into force in December 2005. Civil Partnership is akin to marriage for couples of the same sex. It has important financial, children, tax and benefit implications, therefore, it is important that legal advice is sought prior to entering into one. We can also offer advice if sadly the partnership fails. As with divorce, dissolution of a partnership can not occur until after a period of 1 year has elapsed since the partnership was entered into.
